Rebuilding Warriors

Marine Corps Cpl Kevin Dubois was assigned to 3^rd Battalion 4^th Marines as a Scout Sniper when he was injured on his second deployment to Afghanistan. While clearing a compound a fellow marine opened a door setting off an IED but luckily not all the explosives went off.

The IED still shattered the bones in this marine's foot. With the medevac helicopter enroute, Dubois went out to secure a landing zone which is when he stepped on another IED, a better built one. Losing both legs and knocked unconscious he awoke a week later in a military hospital in Bethesda MD.

Kevin was married to his beautiful wife Kayla just 5 months before he was injured. Kevin was moved to the Navy Medical Center San Diego where they lived while Dubois did his rehabilitation.

Kevin and Kayla have since moved back home to Rhode Island where they received their new home this past December just in time for their baby which was born in February.
